WhiteStone Wealth Management, a full-service wealth management advisory based in San Antonio, Texas, has moved its more than $240MM in assets under advisement to hybrid broker/dealer Arkadios Capital.
The move is a result of a large network firm acquiring WhiteStone Wealth’s prior broker/dealer. That firm then merged into one of the larger networks, highlighting the industry-wide challenges Arkadios Capital solves. Ongoing consolidation in the channel has forced many successful advisors into a broken one-size-fits-all model.
“We found Arkadios Capital could deliver a more personalized, common-sense approach to our business while providing broader options and solutions for our clients,†said Steve J. Markey, Managing Partner, WhiteStone Wealth Management.
Patrick Lynch III and Steve J. Markey founded WhiteStone Wealth in 2005. The firm works with more than 200 households and focuses on business owners, physicians, and retirees. It delivers custom-built financial plans,1031 exchanges, generational wealth transference, portfolio diversification and alternative investments to its clients.
Arkadios is a unique broker/dealer platform created by a successful registered independent advisor. Founder David Millican grew his advisory firm to more than $2B in AUM before becoming dissatisfied with the consolidation of the B/D channel.
He started Arkadios with a focus on supporting successful independent advisors like himself. It has grown to more than $5B in affiliated assets and more than 110 advisors with 33 offices spread across the United States and Puerto Rico.
“Patrick and Steve have a proven track record of success for their clients, as evidenced by their growth. Arkadios will provide them and their clients with the highest level of personalized service while giving them the tools to reach the next level,†said Millican. “We are thrilled to welcome WhiteStone to our growing family of advisors.â€
